A detailed history of Shawnee County and Topeka, Kansas starting with the earliest settlement and continuing into the twentieth century. Also includes a history of each township and numerous small communities. Also includes a 11 x 17" foldout out map of Shawnee County, Kansas in 1887.

Includes a number of historical photos plus additional photos from the late 1960's to early 1970's.

Many names are mentioned in the text but no biographies are included.

Cover has light wear, inside pages are very clean. Gift inscription on dedication page.
