Additional Free Genealogy and Map Resources State County Division Maps The State / County maps used here are the year 2000 county division maps from the US Census Bureau. Click on the state names below to view each map. These maps are useful in helping to understand the location of the county within the state and the names of adjoining counties. Please keep in mind that these are the current boundaries, as of the year 1990. In the past, county lines were frequently redrawn as new counties were added. This was especially true during the 1800's. Major changes to county lines were rarely made after about 1900. Maps can be printed on your desktop computer printer for greater clarity and convenience. For best results, first download the map to your computer and then print. To download, place mouse curser over the map image and then right click on "Save Picture As". Make note of where you are saving the map to so you can easily locate it later (save to your desktop if you unfamiliar with computer file folder structure.) When printing the map, you will probably need to make size adjustments in your printers print settings to print to a regular 8.5 x 11" paper size. Check back often, we will add maps for other states soon. Click on the state names below to view the maps: |
